This SIG is for discussing partnerships between higher education and correctional facilities. Teachers, students, and researchers are all encouraged to join. This SIG also serves to promote collaborations between college/university student organizations and local jails/prisons.

Here is the bio of Mr. Gee our new CEA Post Secondary Education SIG Chair. Please welcome hin online and at the CEA President's Council Meeting on Monday afternoon, July 20:

Jeremiah C. Gee teaches GED at a rural county jail and works at Pennsylvania College of Technology as the assessment coordinator. He is the adviser for the Collegiate Association for County Correctional Education (CACCE). He holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in education. Gee’s thesis was entitled Rural correctional education: A look at education in rural Pennsylvania’s county correctional facilities, and Gee remains an active researcher in county corrections by pursuing his PhD at Penn State. He is focused on the topic of rural communities and their challenges to “inmate” reentry. Gee is the author of numerous publications and has presented at conferences and workshops nationwide, including Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Association of American Colleges and Universities, University of Indianapolis, The National Assessment Institute, and the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and the Correctional Education Association, among others.
