Hi Fellow educators!
So glad to find this forum. Question.........I will be a correctional teacher in Ohio for one year this coming April. However I recieved service credit from prior teaching in the state and my pay-stub now gives me credit for 4 years and 11 months. What does this mean to me? Step increase? Something to do with retirement?? I cannot as hard as I have tried find anyone who knows this answer.
The 4 years 11 months has replaced my under a year status and has been on my pay-stub since September.
Thank you thank you for any guidance or help as to what this means as a correctional educator.

Hi, Kathy! Welcome to the CEA Forum. I think if your institution has an accredited program, your time in that institution will count the same as time in a regular public school. However, the best way to verify this is to contact your department of ed...each state has their own rules and regs.
