CEA Female Offender SIG
Chair: Matthew Koval

After getting off to a slow start, it is the intention of the Female Offender SIG to kick into high gear by the beginning of 2008 on the new CEA website. In order to accomplish this, the SIG will be introducing the following:

• A monthly collection of blog entries from members that will detail “a day in the life of working with female offenders. These blog entries will aim to allow members to share “what works” in their facilities and allow other members a snapshot of the lives of their colleagues.
• An ongoing collection of articles about working with female offenders in the classroom.
• A quarterly calendar detailing webinars and other events of interest to members of the SIG.
• Introduction of the Sharing Center. Here, teachers can post their favorite lessons, games, and handouts to share with all members of the SIG.

It will also be the effort of the Female Offender SIG to work with other SIG’s as well in a constant free flow of information pertinent to one another’s interests and work. Working together, the Female Offender SIG will flourish into a wonderful resource for its members and hopefully expand its member base.
